Wedding Music - Editing Shorter Versions of Entrance Music
Many couples opt for having recorded music from CD at their church services or civil ceremonies (the latter of course cannot have any music of a religious nature).
We've seen many instances of brides and grooms requiring shorter versions of pieces of classical music, typically to walk down the aisle to as the timing on this is critical.
Pachelbel - Canon in D
A prime example is the Pachelbel Canon in D - amongst the most famous of classical pieces and secular so it's ideal for civil ceremonies. The original composition can run to anything up to 6 minutes in length but for professional editors it's very easy to truncate this to a usable length of your choice.
We are currently in negotiations with the MCPS (the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society) and the PRS (The Performing Rights society) who are now operating as an alliance in order to be able to offer a service where we can do just that.
Potential clients would be able to specify a piece of music and a version of it and ask us to create a specific length for that track for a small fee. Rubber Soul would then return that shorter version to you on CD for you to use at your ceremony.
For any reluctant dancers, we can also shorten first dance music, including songs (the same applies if the band are playing for your first dance of course!).
